The Foundation’s Board of Trustees has chosen McGregor Metalworking Companies as one of three inaugural Metalforming Pioneers Award winners.  This honor is meaningful recognition from the industry and its trade organization for the long-standing commitment that McGregor has had in workforce Development.

“Highly-skilled employees are an absolute must for success in our industry” said Jim McGregor, Vice-Chairman of the McGregor Metalworking Companies.  “We recognized this back in the 1980’s and went about developing a program to develop our own talent.  Today’s environment it is even more demanding and our programs are changing to reflect this.”    Training technologies as well as initial skill levels of new employees differ from just 20 years ago and McGregor is continually changing its processes due to this.

The McGregor Metalworking Companies remain committed to the development of its workforce not only though its Pay For Skills program, but also training before an employee begins with the company full time.  “We have launched an intern program that partners with the Springfield High School STEM Academy and recently with the Clark County CTC to bring students into our environment to develop future talent for McGregor” said Dan McGregor, Chairman of McGregor Metalworking.  “It is essential that we do this for the health of our company, as well as our community and it is very satisfying to be recognized as a Pioneer by the PMAEF and their Board.”
