We run each customer’s project through a program management process that brings together cross-functional teams of sales, engineering and quality so that we have a complete understanding of expectations and requirements before the first part is made.
Metal Stamping
You could say that metal stamping technology has formed the basis of the McGregor Metalworking Companies. Our first forming press was installed in the 1940s; today we have more than 50 presses operating at three of our four manufacturing facilities. Our emphasis is progressive stamping, leveling/blanking and transfer stamping of moderate to high volume metal components.
Metal Spinning
The McGregor Metalworking Companies have aggressively invested in state of the art metal splitting and pulley production technology providing an un-rivaled ability among our peers. Two of our facilities produce complete v-groove and poly-groove pulleys with welded hubs, retained bearings and an unlimited configuration of shafts and pulley stacks. Our excellence centers in machining and stamping directly feed the pulley spinning operations to assure that our customer’s requirements are met continually. The McGregor production strategy uses a combination of manually fed and automated pulley cells to efficiently produce custom-designed pulley geometries in all volume ranges for one of the quickest turnarounds in the industry.
Welding & Assembly
It is often said that necessity is the mother of invention and at McGregor Metalworking necessity is what continues to form our business. Having developed core competencies in metal stamping and machining, we saw a customer-level demand for high volume welded assemblies. An entrepreneurial spirit in combination with a commitment to the customer we entered the robotic welding business in 1991 and haven’t looked back. Two of our four facilities are deeply-rooted in the processes of both spot and MIG welding employing robots for an unbeatable marriage of accuracy and efficiency resulting in a highly repeatable process. With a large geographic reach, our robotic welding capacity can combine McGregor stamped and machined parts into complicated assemblies that we can control in-house from design all the way to your factory floor.

Machining
As part of the McGregor Metalworking value proposition, we have built a division comprised of highly skilled people who live and breathe the processes of CNC milling, turning and screw machine processing. This has proven to be a key differentiator for McGregor in the market as we can cost-effectively produce precision parts directly to discerning customers, or as parts of fabrications incorporating other McGregor metal-forming processes.
Tool & Die
The McGregor Metalworking Companies can trace their roots to tool and die manufacturing. This founding technology remains a focal point to all that we do. A combination of art and science, the manufacture and maintenance of tooling for highly productive production is essential. Our expertise in tooling does not stop with the metal stamping process, but is also applicable to fixtures for robotic welding and form tools for the metal splitting and spinning processes.
